GLIDOL METAL FINISHING COMPOUNDS
GLIDOL range of finshing compounds are chemicals compounds for barrel finishing of components in finishing equipment like Tumbling barrels, Vibratory tubs & Centrifugal Finishing Machines ( CFM ). These compounds are pH balanced alkaline-based or acid-based and are formulated to perform specific functions when used along with ceramic, steel or other media.
GLIDOL Compounds are typically dosed alongwith with media and parts and perform the following general functions :
Enhance deburring
Degreasing and cleaning of oils, grease, flux, and other contamination
De-scaling for heat-treated / hot rolled materials
Rust, corrosion and oxide removal
Polishing and Brightening
Edge-radiusing
Chemically accelerate metal-removal
Increase lubrication and/or foam to produce a shine and protect
delicate parts.
Protect finished parts from rust and corrosion
Prolong life of media and protect steel media from corrosion
These compounds are available in a wide range to suit various grades of ferrous & non-ferrous metals. Grades vary depending upon the metal, operation, media type and machine type.
Specific compounds are available to use them with various grades of media like ceramic, steel, stainless steel, plastic, corncorb, walnut shells, leather chips etc .
GRADES AND APPLICATION :
HEAVY METAL CUTTING COMPOUNDS
These compounds only work with ceramic media.
GLIDOL K-10 : Alkaline abrasive compound for metal-removal and
deburring for Aluminium, Zinc die-cast and other non-ferrous metals.
GLIDOL K-12 : Alkaline deburring, derusting and descaling compound for all ferrous metals. Ideal for removal for heat-treatment scale, forging scale, casting surface, and rust removal in a single operation.
GLIDOL ACF : Alkaline abrasive compound for heavy deburring, derusting, descaling for all ferrous & non-ferrous metals.
DEBURRING/ DERUSTING / DEGREASING COMPOUNDS
A range of compounds for mild operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. These compounds will work with ceramic/plastic/steel media.
GLIDOL ASR : Acidic rust / scale removing compound. Suited for
deburring, degreasing and derusting of all ferrous and non-ferrous
metals. Brightens non-ferrous metals.
GLIDOL ASR N: Mild derusting and deburring compound for non-ferrous metals. Excellent degreasing and good brightness on non-ferrous metals. Used prior to plating / painting since surface is activated.
GLIDOL DBP : General purpose deburring compound for non-ferrous metals especially Aluminium.
GLIDOL DBD (P) : General purpose degreasing, deburring and polishing compound for steel and cast iron. Mild rust protection on finished components (if they are not rinsed after processing in DBD P).
DELINING COMPOUNDS for HAND-TOOLS FINISHING
GLIDOL 700 : A special acidic compound for delining operation
especially for Hand Tools used along with high abrasive ceramic media.
GLIDOL HP : Polishing compound to be used after delining operation used
along with low abrasive ceramic media.
POLISHING AND MIRROR-FINISHING COMPOUNDS
GLIDOL K-1 : Acidic polishing compound liquid for ferrous/non-ferrous metals. Good for mild scale,oxide removal from components. Ideal for preparing metals for plating. Universal finishing compounds for all metals, types of media and machines.
GLIDOL K-3 - Alkaline liquid polishing compound for mirror finishing of steel and cast-iron. Protects components & steel media from rusting.
GLIDOL K-3A - Alkaline liquid polishing compound for Non- ferrous
metals such as brass, copper etc.
GLIDOL K-4 : Alkaline powder polishing compound powder for mirror finishing of steel & stainless steel.
GLIDOL K-5 : Acidic liquid polishing compound for Aluminum & Zinc die cast parts.
GLIDOL K-6 : Acidic liquid polishing compound for mirror finishing of steel and stainless steel.
